With these varieties offering double the yield compared to traditional ones, it could indeed address the challenge of low yield and potentially contribute to increased productivity in rice farming. This development highlights the ongoing efforts to improve crop varieties to meet the growing demand for food production.

Another variety is also available Kala Namak Kiran. While it's commendable that there are multiple options available, it's noteworthy that Pusa Narendra Kalanamak 1638 and Pusa Narendra Kalanamak 1652 are particularly recommended for farmers due to their favourable characteristics and potential for higher yield.

About Kala Namak:

• Kalanamak, a traditional variety of paddy with a black husk and a strong fragrance, which is considered a gift from Lord Buddha to the people of the Sravasti when he visited the region after enlightenment, is all set to get a new look and name.

The name of this variety of rice is Black Salt Kiran, which can produce up to 22 quintals per acre. Export to many countries including Singapore: - This particular variety of rice does not contain sugar but nutrients like protein, iron and zinc are found in abundance. In this, where zinc is found four times, iron three times and protein two times more than other varieties. This is the reason why its demand has started in foreign countries as well. It has been exported to many countries in 2019-20. The first 200 quintals of rice were exported to Singapore last year. After which the people there liked it very much and again 300 quintals of rice were ordered. Similarly, 20 quintals of rice have been exported to Dubai and one quintal of rice to Germany. These districts are Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Siddharth Nagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, Balrampur, Bahraich, Basti, Kushinagar, Gonda, Barabanki, Deoria and Gonda. SEED TREATMENT:

Soaking seeds before sowing can greatly improve their chances of germination and growth. There are several methods of soaking seeds, and one of the most popular methods is soaking them in water. All you need to do is immerse the seeds in water for about 24 hours before planting them in grow bags. This method is particularly useful for seeds that have hard seed coats, which can prevent water from penetrating and germination from occurring.

Another method of soaking seeds is to soak them in cowdung slurry. This is a traditional method that has been used in India for centuries. Cowdung slurry is believed to contain natural growth-promoting substances that can help seeds germinate faster and grow stronger. To prepare the slurry, mix cow dung with water to make a thick paste, and then immerse the seeds in the mixture for about 48 hours. After soaking, rinse the seeds in clean water before planting them in grow bags.

Both of these methods can be effective in improving the germination and growth of seeds. However, it’s important to note that not all seeds require soaking, and some may even be harmed by it.
