About Barnyard Millet
Barnyard is very rich in protein and minerals. It is highly recommended for preparing Bisibele bath and similar rice dishes. Cooking time for Barnyard is same as paddy rice.
Natural Barnyard Millet Rice has six times higher fibre content compared to wheat. In Hindi its called Jhangora or Sanwa.
- It is high on carbohydrates and fat too. Recipes: Millet Lemon rice, Upma, Biryani, Sweet Pongal etc.
- This millet is gluten-free with high calcium, phosphorous and fibre rich. It helps maintain body temperature.
Barnyard Rice can be used to prepare everything that one makes with paddy rice – all the biryanis, pulavs, mixed rices, etc.
Rice is obtained by milling the seed to remove the husk. During this process, we take care that the bran is not removed so we get unpolished, whole grain rice. The bran contains vital nutrients which is essential for the wellbeing of our body.
Add more water while cooking if you are making dishes that are ‘runny’ and less when you are cooking dishes which need to be ‘fluffed’
