Cardamom is the “Queen of Spices”. Cardamom comes from the seeds of several plants in the genera Elettaria, and Amomum, in the family Zingiberaceae. In North India, it is commonly known as “Elaichi”. Cardamom is mostly grown in the districts of Idukki, Palakkad, and Wynad in Kerala. It comes in different grades: “Alleppey Green Extra Bold”, “Alleppey Green Bold”, and “Alleppey Green Superior”.
